Ted Williams Tunnel

The owner had a leaking water pipe located in a 5’ thick concrete wall of an air supply vent tube located below the Ted Williams Tunnel. The owner needed to excavate the concrete without damaging the water pipe.

AK Industrial Services performed hydrodemolition with handheld guns to remove the concrete. AK Industrial Services removed three 6’ x 6’ x 5’ sections of the concrete wall to expose the leaking pipe. This enabled the owner to repair the pipe.

By using hydrodemolition, the team was able to remove enough concrete to access the pipe without damaging the surrounding concrete.
